A concept spot for Bolt, the AI app builder at bolt.new. It opens on a café table where a banking app called Lumo is sketched in pencil, with onboarding, a dashboard and a send-money screen, under the line “Got an idea on paper?” A phone snaps the sketch and the photo drops straight into Bolt’s prompt box: “Turn my Lumo sketch into a clickable banking app: onboarding, dashboard and instant payments.”
Bolt’s agent designs the screens and connects them while the code scrolls past, and the app appears in the preview. A second prompt, “Go dark with a lime accent and add a spending chart”, restyles all of it. Then the film clicks through the idea: onboarding, the dashboard, sending $120 and the transaction history, with data persistence, login, API connections and a shareable link joining in. One click publishes it, the live app lands back on the café table beside the sketch, and the line closes the spot: From paper to platform.
How it was made
The café opening, with the sketch on the table, was generated with AI. All of the UI animation and motion design was created in After Effects: the prompt box, the build steps, the phone screens, the feature callouts and the end card. Lumo is a fictional app made up for the story. The sound design was built to picture, from the café ambience and pen scratch to the build ticks, the taps and the closing note.
Storyboard
Two boards plan the whole film in twelve frames, each with its timing and a sound cue. A third breaks the café opening into six shots: the last pen stroke, the push-in, the paper lifting off the table, the swing to the front and the capture.
